BEING SINGLE IS NOT A WAITING ROOM

Dinner for One, created by Sutanya Dacres, is a platform that celebrates the life you’re living right now and all the pleasure, possibility, food, friendship, and adventure that comes with it.

If you’re enjoying your own company and building a life that feels good, whether or not someone else is sitting at the table, you've landed on the right side of the internet.

Dinner for One Supper Club

A supper club exclusively for single women to feast on their fabulous lives. I started the supper club in 2022 in my Montmartre apartment, welcoming incredible women into my home for evenings where they are seen, celebrated, and doted on. I’ve hosted 40 Dinner for One Supper Club dinners in my Montmartre apartment, and four across Europe in Milan, Munich, Marseille, and London.

A group of six people are gathered in a modern kitchen, engaged in conversation and cooking together. The kitchen features a large white counter with baking supplies and ingredients, and a stainless steel range hood overhead.

The Art of Cooking for One

The Art of Cooking for One is a live, hands-on cooking class built around the 3 C’s of Cooking for One, the signature Dinner for One philosophy and framework for turning a meal for yourself into a practice of Creativity, Care, and Confidence. It is designed to make cooking for yourself feel less like a chore and more like an act of care.

Pop ups

Since 2023, I’ve been sharing the Dinner for One philosophy with a larger audience through a series of sold-out pop-up dinners at wine bars and restaurants around Paris. These nights are when everything I love about Dinner for One comes to life: beautiful food, good wine, and the joy of indulging in a good meal.

Dinner for One Philosophy

At its core, Dinner for One is about celebrating all women, whether they are single, in a relationship, or somewhere in between. It’s about giving them the space to honor and cherish themselves exactly as they are. Every woman deserves to feel seen, valued, and loved for who she is, not for what she lacks or who society says she should be.

Media

From the podcast that started it all to my memoir, a newsletter, and press features in NYT, The Guardian, Condé Nast Traveler, Cherry Bombe, Libération, BBC, Corriere Della Sera and more.

The Table

Food is how I love myself and the ones I gather. This is a constantly evolving visual archive of my healing, the meals that saved me, and the dishes I’ve had the privilege of making for the incredible women who have sat around my table.

Notes from the Kitchen

Notes from the Kitchen is part journal, part love letter to food and to leaning into life as it is in this very moment.

The person behind it all

I'm Sutanya Dacres, Jamaican-born, Bronx-bred, creator, founder, project manager, culinary director, editor, social media manager, and chief dishwasher of this whole thing. When my life came crashing down around me, I couldn't see beyond the rubble of my own heartache to imagine a life on the other side of divorce. But I did, eventually, by cooking myself nice meals. By showing myself that small act of kindness, I completely rewired my relationship to pleasure, Paris, and, in turn, to myself.
